Artist story

Born in Narbonne in 1913, Charles Trenet sang France for nearly 70 years. His energy and permanent good humor earned him the nickname of “Singing Fool”. It is the creator of French music of singer-performer and many famous singers claim to his legacy. After WWII, he decided to go into exile in the United States. On the other side of the Atlantic, he was welcomed with open arms and became famous worldwide. He recorded anthological songs of French song (“La mer”, “Que reste-t-il de nos amours” …). In 1951, he decided to return to Paris where he died February 19, 2001.
