Artist story

Félix Leclerc is an author-songwriter, poet, a writer, a Quebec actor and a man committed to Quebec sovereignty and the defense of the French language.

He will be the source of a fabulous revival of French music in Quebec. He was discovered in 1950 by Jacques Canetti who invited him to sing in France where he obtained a resounding success, it is the time of the ABC Theatre and The “Trois Baudets”. Acclaimed entant an icon in his return to Quebec in 1953, he spent his life singing his unique melodies across Canada and Europe and died in 1988. Today, the Fondation Félix-Leclerc promotes French culture and promotes excellence in young singer-songwriters and young French poets.
