Artist’s story
Born in Sète in 1921, he debuted in 1952 with Jacques Canetti in his Trois Baudet Theater and recorded his first album that was censored. Single author-songwriter telling life ends with an incisive look at the world around us. From “La chanson pour l’auvergnat” to “Les amoureux des bancs publics” or “Les copains d’abord”, some of his songs are now part of French musical heritage. He disappeared in 1981, leaving behind a founding work of French music of today.
